Reporting to the Chief Administrative officer (CAO), the Athletics Director coordinates execution of all athletic and recreation activities, operations and policies with the highest integrity, fosters an environment for the academic success of student athletes, and cooperates with the University leadership team to ensure the athletic program achievements advance the University mission and goals.The Athletics Director has oversight over all athletic administrative staff and coaches and has responsibility for intercollegiate athletic programs, business operations, compliance, development, internal affairs, and marketing and public relations in coordination with university communications leadership.Specific duties include:* Establish goals for the athletic programs, including raising the reputation and success of our athletic programs.* Provide leadership and oversight to the department of Recreation and Intramural Sports.* Develop and implement strategies to ensure achievement of goals.* Identify and maximize revenue opportunities and be a good steward of resources.* Ensure proper academic support is provided to student athletes.* Serve as primary spokesperson for Privateer Athletics.* Hire coaches and staff that support progressive success of the programs.* Oversee matters of athletic policy, operations, budgeting and expenditures, and personnel issues.* Coordinate athletic fundraising and promotions alongside university advancement teammates.* Represent athletics in all campus activities, as well as appropriate local, regional, and national committee meetings and associations.* Foster an environment of competitiveness, respect, and integrity.* Regularly informs the CAO of typical and emerging issues.* Other duties as assigned by the CAO.**Required Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in collegiate athletics administration and program management.* Demonstrated experience supervising coaches and supporting student-athletes across multiple sports programs.* Experience leading head coach recruitment processes, including contract negotiation; familiarity with Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreements and related compliance considerations.* Thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations, with a strong emphasis on academic integrity and student-athlete success.* Proven experience in fundraising, external relations, marketing, and brand development, along with demonstrated fiscal planning and budget management expertise.* Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including university leadership, alumni, donors, and community partners.* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with strong organizational and leadership abilities.**Desired Qualifications:*** Master’s degree or other advanced degree from an accredited institution.* More than five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in collegiate athletics administration, with a record of increasing leadership responsibility.**Required Attachments**Please upload the following documents in the Resume/Cover Letter section.* Detailed resume listing relevant qualifications and experience;* Cover Letter indicating why you are a good fit for the position and University of Louisiana Systems;* Names and contact information of three references;Applications that do not include the required uploaded documents may not be considered.## Posting Close DateThis position will remain open until filled.Note to Applicant:Applicants should fully describe their qualifications and experience with specific reference to each of the minimum and preferred qualifications in their cover letter.
