The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) is seeking an experienced and innovative
Director of National Outreach
to lead its educational advocacy and coalition-building efforts across the country. As a member of the USGLC senior team, the Director of National Outreach will shape the organization’s outreach strategy and coalition building, spearheading the organization’s advocacy and mobilization efforts to strategically engage with key Members of Congress across party lines. The USGLC is looking for a proven and effective leader with significant issue-based and/or political organizing experience, a high level of management and strategic planning skills, the proven ability to connect with diverse constituencies, and strong oral and written communications skills. This position is based in Washington, D.C. and reports to the USGLC’s Executive Director.

Responsibilities STATE OUTREACH INITIATIVES
Develop and implement a national field strategy to advance the mission and goals of USGLC to maximize the impact of a national network of grasstops leaders to engage with policymakers on the importance of America’s role in the world and diplomatic and international assistance programs.
Drive the growth and development of diverse grasstops networks in the USGLC’s strategic states, which include bipartisan influential voices, such as business, civic, military, academic, agriculture, and faith-based leaders, to support USGLC’s efforts.
Organize educational programs and events to build a nationwide network of advocates.
Oversee the strategic mobilization of state, military, faith, farmer and mayor leaders to communicate with policymakers during key opportunities across the year.
Set and implement strategies to deepen and expand strategic affinity groups from around the country such as farmers, veterans, business and faith communities to maximize impact.
Represent, moderate events for, and speak on behalf of USGLC at public and private events around the country on the importance of U.S. international assistance.
Lead educational programs and initiatives with candidates running for U.S. Congress.
LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT
Partner with cross departmental teams on external communications, policy, and Members of Congress engagement.
Working with the cross departmental teams, guide the strategy to effectively message, engage and educate USGLC’s grasstops network of leaders around the country and national networks.
Represent and speak for USGLC at events around the country about the importance of America’s role in the world and the need for strong and effective U.S. diplomatic and development programs.
Set department project cadence to sync with organizational priorities to deliver impactful programs and initiatives.
Position Requirements
Ability to proactively engage leaders in the political, business, faith-based, military, academic, and civic communities across the political spectrum.
Must possess exceptional project management skills in an evolving political and policy environment.
A minimum of fifteen years of experience in political and issue organizing, including leading a regional campaign and mobilization efforts.
Outstanding public speaking skills and ability to create and deliver presentations before high-profile audiences.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills that provide succinct information.
Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, fluid, and flexible team environment.
Ability and desire to travel domestically on a periodic basis.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, international relations, or a related field.
Knowledge of international relations and interest in U.S. foreign policy and ability to connect these issues to domestic education and advocacy efforts.
Compensation Competitive salary will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The USGLC also provides a package of benefits, including health and disability insurance, retirement plan, paid annual and sick leave and federal holidays.
