Automation Solutions Specialist (II, III)
Description:
As an Automation Solutions Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing designed automation solutions across a wide array of industries and maintaining control systems to ensure the efficient and safe operation of industrial processes. This role involves working with various cross‑functional teams to configure control systems improving process performance, reliability, and safety.
The Automation Solutions Specialist is responsible for working with clients and vendors to implement project tasks with the established scope of work in alignment with project goals and objectives under the supervision of project leads or managers. This role requires industrial specific technical knowledge and programming best practices.
Experience in the discrete manufacturing industry is required. The initial project upon hire will be performed onsite at a facility in Western North Carolina.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement process control strategies to support existing operations, including efficiency improvements, optimization, reduction of process variability, compliance with environmental and safety requirements, and equipment/process reliability.
Perform hardware and system configuration activities.
Coordinate and execute PLC upgrades, new installations, and system startups.
Work with instrumentation, motor control, regulatory control loop tuning, and advanced control processes.
Support technical teams with process improvement initiatives and assist with process and maintenance troubleshooting.
Maintain business continuity for process control systems through proper documentation and training.
Provide technical and maintenance support for existing control system platforms at client facilities.

iFIX as the SCADA system
PowerFlex
Yaskawa drives
Kinetix servo drives (motion control)
Skills & Qualifications:
Level II
5 to 10 years of hands‑on experience with specific preferred system or multiple preferred systems.
Demonstrated ability to perform job duties with minimal oversight and direction.
Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
Level III
Level II skills and qualifications
7+ years of hands‑on experience with specific preferred system or multiple preferred systems.
Demonstrated ability to perform job duties with minimal oversight and direction.
In-depth knowledge of the role and required job duties.
Ability to be a learning or training resource for other Automation Solutions Specialists.
