Job Title: Visual Media Associate
Department: Athletics | Video and Photography
Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of operation and preparation for the department video boards; including athletics events and non-athletics events.
Must be able to quickly acquire, edit and package footage for creation of in-game and post game video features.
Consults with the Big Ten Network and establishes a video highlight share and ease of distribution for rights agreement.
Assists network television with feed and footage/highlight needs.
Schedules and assigns coverage for each team's video filming.
Produces video for highlight films, banquets, the website and other needs.
Films practices, competitions, press conferences and other events.
Hires, trains and supervises student assistants.
Establishes staffing needs and schedules for video board and event coverage.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position requires working evenings and weekends.
Position may require the completion of a criminal background check.
Education and Qualifications
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Additional Education Desired: Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications: Considerable experience in video production services, preferably in a sports environment. Experience and knowledge of field and studio production techniques. Knowledge of post production techniques including inter-format, non-linear and high-end digital editing as well as digital composition. Knowledge and experience with video graphics software including Adobe Photo Shop, Premier, Avid and After Effects.
