About K-12 Education at DLR Group Our team of educators, researchers, anthropologists, planners, architects, engineers, building performance experts, and interior designers draw from evidence-based design to aid schools in bridging the gap from old and new to improve all facets of operations, and elevate learning through design. Understanding the rapid pace of technological, social, and cultural change, our K‑12 Education Studio works with schools across the country to navigate this change to better serve communities and improve educational experiences and outcomes for students.
Position Summary In this role, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day design and technical development of projects. You will coordinate all aspects of project document creation and delivery, working closely with our integrated design team to produce high‑quality work. This position requires a strong commitment to meeting project schedules, budgets, and work plans while collaborating effectively with team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
What you will do
Develop creative technical solutions to design challenges while maintaining design excellence
Integrate quality assurance/control and company protocols into project work, coordinating with Project Managers
Assist in maintaining project schedules and coordinating the delivery of project documents
Plan, design, and coordinate projects of various sizes, including complex assignments
Apply advanced architectural concepts and develop new techniques as needed
Ensure BIM standards are implemented and oversee quality control procedures
Lead collaboration within the project team, generating and communicating design ideas
Provide technical guidance to junior staff and ensure alignment of cost estimates with design objectives
Participate in client presentations and contribute to project success through effective communication
Manage time and deliverables in alignment with project schedules and budgets
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in architecture, preferably working with DSA or public projects
Comprehensive technical knowledge with strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills
Undergraduate Degree in Architecture
Proficient in Revit and Bluebeam, with a high level of proficiency in architecture software
Competent in technical design, including evaluating and recommending solutions that meet client needs
Applies sustainable design principles and technical skills in producing precise deliverables
Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and innovative thinking with attention to detail and accuracy
Actively seeks to enhance knowledge and skills, and contributes to marketing and business development efforts
Professional licensure not required
