Position Summary Coordinator, Intramural Sports and Fitness Department of Recreation Services Full-Time

Primary Responsibilities

Develops, maintains, and coordinates a comprehensive intramural sports and fitness/wellness program

Manages and coordinates all evening, weekend, and late-night intramural activities and events to ensure quality experiences for all patrons, including communication with Graduate Assistants and student staff on evenings.

Interviews, hires, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates intramural/fitness student staff and assists in the supervision of practicum, intern, and volunteer students

Schedules practice and competition times for intramural sports and group fitness classes

Ensures risk management compliance in all activities

Markets the intramural and fitness programs to increase awareness and assist in the recruitment and retention of students

Evaluates and revises policy and procedures for intramural and club sports programs to streamline processes and assist students

Responsible for the operations of the department's internal summer day camp (Redhawk Kids Camp)

Assists with summer camps and special events

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (spring 2026 graduates will be considered)

Demonstrated experience in developing and managing sports and fitness programs

Experience with youth camp programs

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Demonstrated marketing and promotional skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to work as a team player

Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
