Join a high-performing, mature Epic environment as a Senior Epic Caboodle Database Administrator, where you will play a critical role in enabling AI-driven analytics, advanced reporting, and data-informed decision-making at scale. In this role, you will own the stability, performance, and evolution of Epic's Caboodle and Cogito data platforms – foundational systems that power operational intelligence, predictive insights, and emerging Epic- and AI-enabled capabilities.

As a trusted technical expert, you will partner closely with analytics, Epic application, and infrastructure teams to ensure Epic data is optimized, reliable, and ready to support machine-assisted insights, automation, and next-generation clinical and operational analytics, while maintaining solid governance, performance, and reliability standards across the enterprise.

Under minimal supervision, the Epic Caboodle Database Administrator is responsible for the configuration, monitoring, support, and administration of Epic Caboodle and Cogito reporting and analytics databases, with secondary responsibility providing backup support for Epic operational databases (ODBA).

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities

Caboodle / Cogito (Primary Focus)

Install, configure, upgrade, maintain, and support Epic Caboodle and Cogito databases

Administer and optimize nightly ETL processes

Monitor database performance, health, and growth

Partner with analytics teams to support AI-enabled reporting and insights

Epic ODBA (Secondary / Backup)

Provide backup operational database administration

Support upgrades, patches, backups, and restoresAssist with performance troubleshooting

Required Qualifications

Degree or equivalent healthcare IT experience

Epic Caboodle certification

Epic ODBA certification or ability to obtain

3+ years supporting Epic databases

Solid Microsoft SQL Server experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with healthcare analytics and AI-enabled platforms

Familiarity with Epic Cogito architecture

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
