In a Nutshell The Personal Lines Insurance Broker focuses on developing new business opportunities for home, auto, umbrella, and life insurance solutions while building long‑term client relationships. The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated sales professional who thrives on networking, referral development, and delivering a high‑touch client experience.
What You Will Be Doing
Develop new business opportunities for personal insurance products including home, auto, umbrella, and life coverage
Prospect through referrals, networking, community involvement, and outbound sales activities
Build and maintain strategic relationships with mortgage lenders, real estate professionals, financial advisors, and other referral partners
Collaborate with internal service teams to ensure exceptional client onboarding and ongoing service
Identify cross‑selling opportunities within existing clients and referral networks
Manage and grow a personal book of business while maintaining strong retention and client satisfaction
Maintain accurate activity and pipeline tracking within agency systems.
Qualifications
Active Property & Casualty license required (Life license preferred or willingness to obtain)
3+ years of sales experience, preferably in insurance, financial services, or a relationship‑driven sales environment
Demonstrated success in prospecting, networking, and closing new business
Professional presence and ability to represent the agency in the marketplace
Key Skillset
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Strong relationship‑building and networking abilities
Proven sales and closing skills in a competitive environment
Ability to develop and sustain referral partnerships with external business partners
Strong consultative selling approach focused on understanding client needs and recommending appropriate coverage solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of self‑motivation, persistence, and accountability
Strong time management and organizational skills to manage prospecting, client meetings, and follow‑up activities
Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams while independently driving new business growth
