The Opportunity Our client is seeking a
Landman (level I, II, or III depending on experience)
to play a key role in supporting and executing critical land operations across the Appalachian Basin.
This is a dynamic, high-impact position where you’ll be at the center of drilling coordination, deal-making, and land strategy. From managing field activity to negotiating complex agreements and supporting drilling schedules, you’ll be directly contributing to the success of ongoing and future development programs.

What You’ll Do
Lead and manage field personnel supporting land acquisition and research initiatives
Coordinate cross-functionally with Land, Operations, and Regulatory teams to support active drilling schedules
Clear wells, approve drilling locations, and establish production and allocation units
Facilitate third-party participation within units and support acquisition efforts
Draft and execute unit declarations, proposals, and supporting documentation
Negotiate with third-party operators and joint venture partners across a variety of agreements, including:
Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs)
Assignments and trades
Well proposals and COPAS agreements
Acquisitions and other commercial arrangements
Manage land acquisition projects and evaluate new prospect opportunities
Partner with Regulatory and Operations teams to ensure accurate and timely permitting support
Lead and represent the organization in statutory unitization processes, including interaction with regulatory agencies
Coordinate internal efforts related to surface land acquisition
Support Land Administration, curative processes, and division order activities
Utilize land systems and tools to generate reports and track project progress
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Land Management, Business, or a related field strongly preferred
AAPL certification (or progress toward certification) preferred
8+ years of experience in land acquisition or a similar role within the oil & gas industry
Proven experience working within the
Appalachian Basin (Ohio & Pennsylvania)
Strong negotiation skills with hands-on experience executing JOAs and third-party agreements
Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks related to land and drilling operations
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business tools
Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both internal teams and external partners
Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently while contributing to a highly collaborative team
Results-driven with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
