Who We Are Looking For Slate is looking for an energetic and ambitious

Fleet Business Development Representative

to join our growing fleet sales team. This individual will focus on creating opportunities and opening doors with new fleet customers. The Business Development Representative’s efforts at the top of the funnel will be critical to Slate’s commercial growth, and this role will serve as a launchpad to future sales leadership opportunities within Slate.

What You Get To Do

Create, implement, and iterate outbound sales strategies to reach potential customers in established and new verticals.

Manage inbound leads and conduct discovery calls with prospects to qualify fit and present Slate’s solutions.

Build and track the pipeline in CRM and report on key metrics that drive sales success.

Represent Slate at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to generate leads.

Collaborate with Fleet Sales Leads to ensure smooth handoff of qualified opportunities and gain mentorship on closing strategies.

Provide market feedback to marketing and product teams to strengthen Slate’s customer-focused approach.

What You Bring To The Team

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in sales, business development, marketing, or customer-facing roles, preferably in Fleet, Automotive, or EV industries.

Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools is strongly preferred.

Excellent prospecting, time management, and relationship-building skills.

Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to quickly establish trust.

Highly motivated, gritty, and eager to learn from experienced sales leaders in a fast-paced startup environment.

Creative problem-solver with the ability to adapt and work through roadblocks.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to travel (up to 50%).

Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

Must have the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Salary & Benefits Los Angeles, CA Base Salary Range – $105,875 to $132,344. The stated pay scale reflects the range that Slate reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices. In addition to base pay, Slate also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs – 401k match, annual bonus and company equity, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans, HSA / FSA.
