Resident Director (Women)

Position Summary The Resident Director (RD) position is a live-in, 37-week, part-time (28 hours/week) role connected to the Office of Student Life. The RD reports directly to the Area Coordinator and is responsible for directing and managing a positive living‑learning environment that enhances the academic, intellectual, interpersonal, physical, and spiritual development of residential students while assisting with the operation of the Department of Student Life. Working directly with a team of Resident Assistants (RAs), the RD will strive to integrate faith and a relationship with Christ into the on‑campus living environment with students, staff, faculty, and outside constituents.

Living Arrangement Due to the nature of a live‑on‑campus position, the following are included with employment: housing (partially furnished), cell phone stipend, meal plan, and graduate school tuition remission. After the RD’s first year, he/she has the option of staying in their housing over the summer. Non‑returning RDs must be moved out of their housing by the end of May.

Duties

Develop Emerging Leaders

– Invest in Resident Assistants through intentional mentorship, equipping them to lead with confidence and shepherd their residents well. This includes recruiting student leaders who embody Bryan’s mission, providing ongoing formation through weekly meetings and one‑on‑ones, and creating development opportunities that prepare them for service beyond college.

Cultivate Transformational Community

– Partner with student leaders to build residential environments characterized by authentic relationships, mutual care, and spiritual growth. Navigate student concerns with grace and wisdom, treating conduct conversations as opportunities for restoration and learning.

Steward Resources and Operations

– Manage the administrative and logistical elements of residential living—budgets, facilities, and systems—so that operational excellence supports the larger mission of student formation. Ensure residential spaces remain welcoming, functional, and conducive to community.

Collaborate Across Campus

– Serve as a vital connector between Residence Life and broader campus initiatives, contributing to new student orientation, training programs, and other efforts that shape the student journey from arrival through graduation.
