
Event Marketing Manager

Our client, a prominent Washington, DC law firm, is seeking a Marketing Events Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of client-facing events, from intimate client dinners to large-scale conferences and symposia, in close collaboration with Marketing, Business Development, and Diversity Initiatives teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end execution of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events including client dinners, webinars, roundtables, conferences, symposia, firm sponsorships, and social or sporting events
Coordinate with venue staff, A/V teams, and virtual platforms; oversee room setup, speaker management, registration, branded materials, and on-site logistics
Develop event objectives, action plans, project timelines, and KPIs in partnership with practice group leaders
Independently operate virtual event platforms (Zoom, On24) for webinars, roundtables, and on-demand sessions
Manage event budgets end-to-end and assess post-event ROI
Oversee invitation process using CRM and email marketing platforms to drive awareness and attendance
Research and maintain a strong vendor and venue network across DC, New York, and Boston
Partner with Design, Communications, Digital Marketing, Client Services, and IT on cross-functional event needs
Procure and manage branded promotional items and gifts inventory
Oversee design and production of event materials including invitations, signage, presentations, and name badges
Support post-event follow-up including on-demand strategies, recap communications, and BD outreach
Negotiate supplier and vendor contracts in collaboration with senior events leadership
Identify opportunities to integrate diversity and inclusion initiatives into client relationship strategies
Maintain detailed event records: attendee lists, vendors, invitations, invoices, and budgets
Understand CLE and industry accreditation processes
Stay current on event trends and best practices in professional services
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, or a related field preferred
5+ years of event planning and project management experience in a corporate environment; legal or professional services experience a plus
Extensive experience producing virtual events; Zoom and On24 experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of DC, New York, and/or Boston venues, restaurants, and vendors
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Experience with Salesforce and/or Pardot/Account Engagement preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Ability to manage competing priorities and remain composed under pressure
Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours as needed
