Role Summary
As a Senior Valuation Reviewer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of real estate valuations used in lending decisions. You'll partner with credit and lending teams to provide trusted insights that protect the bank and its clients. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise while mentoring others and influencing appraisal standards across the organization. Key Accountabilities
Review commercial and residential appraisals to ensure compliance with USPAP, internal policies, and federal regulations
Analyze valuation methodologies and assumptions to validate accuracy and support sound lending decisions
Select and engage qualified appraisers; prepare engagement letters and evaluate final reports
Partner with credit officers, relationship managers, and analysts to ensure appraisal independence and quality
Support regulatory exams by preparing documentation and responding to examiner inquiries
Maintain and enhance the approved appraiser panel, recommending additions or removals based on performance
Mentor and train junior reviewers, providing guidance on complex appraisal reviews
Education & Experience
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
6+ years of real estate appraisal and/or review experience
Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license in a state within Associated Bank's footprint
Residential or General Appraiser Certification in WI, MN, or IL
Active or candidate status with a recognized professional appraisal organization (e.g., MAI, ASA, SRA)
Preferred: Multi-state appraiser certification (or ability to obtain within 1 year)
Advanced designations such as MAI, ASA, AI-GRS, or AI-RRS
