AV Systems Design Engineer--Post Sales

Overview TEKsystems is looking for an experienced AV Designer to join our Audio‑Visual Engineering team. In this role you will design innovative AV solutions that drive collaboration and elevate the user experience for our clients — from initial concept through final documentation. You will work directly with clients, sales teams, architects, and project managers to deliver systems that are technically sound, scalable, and built to last.

Responsibilities Client Engagement & Sales Support

Partner with the Sales team during early‑stage client conversations to define project goals and technical requirements.

Participate in site surveys, needs assessments, and solution presentations.

Provide technical consultation and clearly communicate the value of proposed AV solutions.

System Design & Engineering

Design end‑to‑end AV systems integrating unified communications platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams), audio systems, LED video walls, camera switching, and collaboration tools.

Ensure all designs meet performance, scalability, and usability standards while staying aligned with client expectations and budget.

Technical Documentation

Develop detailed system documentation including equipment lists, signal‑flow diagrams, infrastructure and cabling requirements, executive summaries, technical narratives, and accurate bills of materials (BOM).

Stakeholder Collaboration

Attend and contribute to design meetings with clients, architects, consultants, and project managers.

Ensure alignment between client vision, architectural constraints, and technical feasibility.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in AV system design or engineering.

CTS‑D and/or CTS‑I certification preferred.

Strong working knowledge of AV signal flow, system integration, and control systems.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word).

Strong verbal and written communication skills — comfortable presenting to clients and stakeholders.

Organized, deadline‑driven, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Collaborative by nature, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Andover, MA

Pay Range: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
