
Grants & Proposals Manager

A renewable energy company based in the Los Angeles area is seeking a Grants & Proposals Manager to support the development and submission of public funding applications and competitive proposals related to clean energy and transportation infrastructure projects.
This role will be responsible for coordinating the preparation of grant applications, requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and related submissions. The position works closely with internal teams across engineering, operations, finance, and business development to compile technical information, prepare proposal narratives, and manage submission timelines. The Grants & Proposals Manager will also support administration of awarded grants and proposals, including tracking reporting requirements and maintaining communication with funding agencies.
The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple proposal efforts simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment. The position will report to senior leadership responsible for government relations and strategic programs.
Responsibilities
Coordinate development and submission of grant applications and proposal responses, including RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
Work with internal technical and operational teams to gather information required for proposal narratives, budgets, and project schedules.
Maintain proposal calendars, submission timelines, and documentation associated with active funding opportunities.
Track federal, state, local, and utility funding programs related to renewable energy and transportation infrastructure.
Review proposal content and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with submission requirements.
Support administration of awarded grants and proposals, including tracking deliverables, reporting requirements, and contract documentation.
Maintain communication with public agencies, utilities, and program administrators regarding funding opportunities and application processes.
Assist with development of internal processes and documentation related to proposal preparation and grant tracking.
Coordinate internally with marketing, policy, and project teams to ensure alignment across proposal submissions.
Maintain records of submitted proposals and funding outcomes for internal reporting and planning purposes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in public policy, government affairs, communications, environmental policy, or a related field preferred.
Minimum four to six years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, public funding programs, or related roles.
Experience preparing responses to RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, or public funding applications.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, structured proposal content.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines.
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams to develop technical or project-based proposals.
Familiarity with renewable energy, clean transportation, or infrastructure funding programs is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
