About the Role The Streaming Media Engineer is responsible for architectural design, implementation, and documentation of an on‑premises and cloud‑based live ABR video processing environment. The engineer is also responsible for reliable, consistent operation of these systems to provide a top‑quality video delivery experience for our customers. The headquarters is located in New York City, but this role is based in Denver, CO.

Responsibilities

Design and implement a MVPD‑based live ABR video processing environment

Develop tools to scale deployments of chosen architectures

Work with various business‑critical vendors to drive feature development and bug fixes

Work with multiple teams to launch new services on the Fubo platform

Provide Tier 2 support as needed

Perform routine maintenance as needed, potentially overnight

Participate in an on‑call rotation and act as a subject‑matter expert for fuboTV‑internal groups

Required Skills

Solid experience with video and audio codecs such as AVC, HEVC, AAC, E‑AC3

Solid experience with multimedia transport protocols including RTP, RTMP, SRT, UDP, Zixi

Experience with streaming packaging methods such as HLS and DASH

Understanding of alternate content workflows in the ABR ecosystem (ESAM, ESNI/SCTE‑224/SCTE‑35, etc.)

Experience developing automation using languages such as Python, Ruby, GoLang, with the ability to adapt to business needs as required

Familiarity with DRM and content encryption, including third‑party integrations

Familiarity with different CDN vendors and their systems (e.g., Akamai, Level3, Fastly, etc.)

Familiarity with enterprise MPEG analysis tools, such as Tektronix, Ineoquest, Elecard, etc.

Familiarity with cloud deployments (Docker, AWS EC2/ECS, Google Cloud Compute/Storage)

Experience with testing environments and development of scenarios

Ability to context‑switch between engineering and operational roles across multiple technologies

Fubo’s minimum base salary for this role if hired in New York City is $110,000 per year; maximum base salary for this role is $150,000 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Fubo's equity plan, annual cash bonus plans, unlimited PTO, and a full range of medical benefits. The final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, and other business considerations.
