Position Summary
The Residential Construction Estimator
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed conceptual estimates, preliminary budgets, and final project pricing for custom residential projects
Read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and interior design plans and specifications
Perform complete quantity takeoffs across all phases of construction
Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier bids
Identify scope gaps, overlaps, pricing inconsistencies, and cost-saving opportunities
Develop and maintain accurate estimating databases, unit pricing, and cost history
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, designers, and leadership throughout preconstruction
Assist with value engineering while preserving design intent and construction quality
Provide pricing for change orders, revisions, and client-requested upgrades
Help refine estimating systems and processes to support company growth
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of residential estimating experience
Experience estimating custom homes, preferably high-end or luxury residential projects
Strong ability to read and understand detailed construction drawings and specifications
Broad knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, sequencing, and systems
Experience with site work, framing, finishes, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing scope
Strong math, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
Must be willing to work in Heber City, Utah
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the Park City luxury home market
Familiarity with mountain construction, premium finishes, and custom detailing
Existing relationships with local subcontractors and suppliers
Background in construction management or related field is a plus
