
Senior Product Designer

The Senior Product Designer is responsible for leading the design process for consumer-focused products from concept through production. This role requires a deep understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and product design principles to create innovative, trend-driven products that align with the company’s strategic goals.
This role will primarily focus on trend-driven plush products,while also supporting the development of party, family, and kids games as needed. The ideal candidate is highly creative, collaborative, and capable of balancing strong design vision with an understanding of how products are manufactured.
Responsibilities
Lead the design process from concept to production for consumer products, including collectible plush, soft goods, hard goods, and games
Concept and develop trend-driven plush products, including character design, materials, and construction details
Brainstorm and present ideas for new game concepts, plush, and consumer products that align with the Relatable product portfolio
Create sketches and renderingsthat clearly communicate form, materials, and manufacturability
Develop detailed design specifications, including sketches, turnaround drawings, and prototypes
Review physical samples and provide clear, actionable feedback with visual reference and overlays
Use consumer insights and trend research to inform design decisions
Identify the defining elements of our brands and communicate them clearly to stakeholders and peers
Collaboration and Communication
Collaborate with brand marketing, brand design, engineering, and sourcing teams to align design efforts with business objectives
Attend and contribute to product development meetings (Brand/Design reviews, cross-functional check-ins, etc.)
Present design concepts and rationale clearly to stakeholders and incorporate feedback efficiently
Clearly communicate and help define the visual and product language of our brands
Design Execution
Demonstrate strong skills in sketching and rendering product concepts, with a focus on form, styling, and construction
Apply knowledge of materials, including plush, fabrics, and mixed materials (e.g., plastics and soft goods)
Design with manufacturing in mind, ensuring concepts translate effectively into production
Project Management
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery
Work in a fast-paced, iterative environment, balancing speed with quality
Lead designs and timelines independently ensuring cross functional collaboration and communication
Balance creative exploration with practical constraints to meet product goals
Utilize and manage external resources to successfully drive a high volume of projects
This Could Be You If
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field
5+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on consumer products
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator required)
Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes, particularly plush, soft goods, and mixed materials
Strong understanding of design aesthetic consumer behavior, and market trends.
Must be able to take direction and work in a team environment
Experience reviewing physical samples and providing feedback for production
Ability to conceptualize product and game ideas; experience with kids/family games a plus
Strong understanding of consumer trends and culturally relevant product design
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple projects
Experience in toys, games, consumer products, or soft goods preferred
Knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.) is a plus

The Legal bits The salary range for this role is $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 annually, plus eligible for an annual target bonus prorated from the start date. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
