Position Summary/ Objectives
The Packaging Lead is responsible for leading the Packaging and Labeling team in the execution of secondary packaging operations in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. This role provides hands‑on leadership for daily floor execution, coordinates labor and equipment to maximize throughput, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, variability, and rework.
This position ensures the disciplined execution of company programs through strong floor leadership, continuous improvement, and strict adherence to GMP and Quality System requirements, while remaining fully aligned with company values. The ideal candidate demonstrates a solid understanding of regulated manufacturing operations and applies continuous improvement principles to support both strategic initiatives and daily execution. The successful candidate will exhibit a high degree of professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion in a compliant manufacturing environment.
Essential Job Functions
Prepare the packaging schedule to meet production and shipment deadlines.
Plan and execute packaging schedules to meet high‑volume production and shipment targets.
Lead the Packaging and Labeling team to ensure accurate, efficient execution and full training readiness.
Drive efficient packaging operations by optimizing labor utilization, work sequencing, and process flow.
Set up, operate, and support shrinkwrap and other secondary packaging equipment to maximize uptime and throughput.
Maintain accurate, real‑time packaging and labeling documentation to support uninterrupted production flow.
Review completed packaging and labeling records promptly to prevent delays, rework, or release holds.
Perform timely and accurate ERP transactions to ensure inventory accuracy and smooth downstream operations.
Train and coach personnel to perform assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and in compliance.
Ensure strict adherence to approved standard operating procedures and departmental work instructions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area to support high‑throughput operations and GMP compliance.
Identify, document, and Escalate product, process, or Quality System issues in a timely manner.
Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence or recurrence of nonconformities related to product or process performance.
Recommend and support corrective and improvement solutions through established channels.
Support continuous improvement initiatives, special projects, and other operational duties as assigned.
Assist with various special ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position will oversee the Packaging and Labeling team.
Education, Experience and Certification
This position requires a minimum of GED/high school diploma with four (4) years of medical device, pharmaceutical, or food/beverage packaging experience, or bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences with 2 years medical device, pharmaceutical, or food/beverage packaging experience.
Strong people management and leadership skills. Ability to motivate staff.
Ability to perform detailed document and component inventory review.
Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Experience with maintaining and managing packaging equipment is plus.
Strong organizational skills ability to simultaneously track multiple assignments.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Experience with Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).
