The Role We are looking for a hyper‑organized and process‑driven
Marketing Operations Analyst
to serve as the financial backbone of our marketing department.
This is not a creative marketing role; it is an operational role designed for someone who thrives in spreadsheets, loves solving discrepancies, and believes that accuracy is paramount. You will be the primary bridge between Marketing and Finance, ensuring our budget is tracked to the penny.
Key Responsibilities
Budget Management & PO Processing
Budget Reporting:
Prepare and distribute regular budget pacing, variance reports, planned spend vs. actual spend.
End‑to‑End PO Management:
Own the creation, submission, and tracking of all Marketing Purchase Orders (POs). You will ensure POs are opened accurately and in a timely manner.
Budget Tracking:
Maintain and update master budget trackers in real time. Monitor spend against allocated budgets for various teams (Events, Digital, Content) and ensure they have visibility into what is committed.
Accruals & Variance Analysis:
Assist in identifying monthly accruals and flagging budget variances immediately.
Finance Reconciliation
Month‑End Close:
Partner closely with the Finance team during the month‑end close process. Act as the liaison in marketing to resolve discrepancies in the General Ledger.
Monthly forecasting:
Meet with all marketing budget owners to lock in monthly forecasts and ensure Finance has the information they need for accurate lock‑in.
Process Optimization
Identify bottlenecks in the procurement or commission process and suggest improvements to streamline workflows.
Maintain documentation for all financial processes and operational playbooks.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Location:
You are based in
Denver, CO
and able to work

Experience:
2+ years of experience in Marketing Operations, Sales Operations, or a Finance‑adjacent role.
Extreme Attention to Detail:
You spot typos in spreadsheets that others miss. You are meticulous about numbers and data integrity.
Financial Literacy:
You understand basic financial concepts (Opex, Accruals, POs, Invoicing).
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in
Excel/Google Sheets
(VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and formulas are second nature to you).
Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and Procurement software (e.g., Coupa, NetSuite, or similar) is highly preferred.
Familiarity with reporting tools like Tableau.
Communication:
Ability to explain complex budget constraints to creative marketers and operational details to Finance partners.

Base Hiring Range:
$60,000 – $70,000
In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19‑085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
