Description
The Alumni Association invites applications for a Communications Coordinator to help tell the story of the University and its alumni through high-quality communications, promotional copywriting and alumni spotlight features. This position supports the organization’s communications strategy with a primary focus on email marketing, web content and storytelling that advances alumni engagement goals. Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President for Alumni & Community Relations, this position will develop, publish and maintain professional communications that strengthen the organization’s voice, brand consistency and outreach efforts. Some evening or weekend work may be required to support events and engagement opportunities.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute alumni communications strategies and content (promotional copy, features, storytelling) to drive engagement, awareness, and program participation
Maintain consistent brand voice and messaging while identifying new opportunities to connect with and highlight alumni impact globally
Manage email marketing and digital communications (content creation, scheduling, distribution, analytics) while coordinating a strategic alumni communications calendar
Maintain website and digital platforms, providing technical support and creating adaptable, multi-channel content
Collaborate with campus partners and the foundation to support communications, ensure data integrity, and advance university initiatives
Support alumni events, participate in meetings, and carry out additional duties aligned with the organization’s mission
Supervise the engagement & outreach intern(s)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or a related field
Demonstrated strong professional writing and communication skills
Experience developing high-quality, audience-focused digital content
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating and editing photo, video or multimedia content
Experience managing content within a CMS platform (such as Cascade, Drupal, or WordPress)
Experience building and sustaining online audiences or communities
Experience using email marketing platforms such as iModules or similar systems
Familiarity with higher education communication practices

Compensation Title: Media Information Coordinator
Bargaining Unit: FOCUS-MFPE
Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (some evening & weekends), 12 months/year
Probationary Period: Six (6) months minimum
