Position Summary
As a Marketing Fellow at Seaside Sustainability, you will play a pivotal leadership role, overseeing all sub‑teams within your assigned department and driving the successful execution of various projects and initiatives. You’ll guide, mentor, and support Department Managers while ensuring alignment with Seaside Sustainability’s mission and objectives. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop advanced leadership skills, enhance strategic project management experience, and make meaningful contributions to sustainability efforts. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight – Lead and support Department Managers across all marketing sub‑teams, fostering clear communication, collaboration, and accountability. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting professional development and adherence to department standards. Ensure consistency in brand voice, creative direction, and marketing strategy across all sub‑teams.
Strategic Project Management – Oversee planning, execution, and completion of marketing projects across all sub‑teams. Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure successful project outcomes. Identify workflow gaps and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Mentorship & Development – Provide guidance and mentorship to Department Managers, promoting skill development and creating a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Track marketing performance metrics and support reporting on key performance indicators.
Reporting & Communication – Maintain regular communication with the department’s senior leadership, including Advisors, providing timely updates on project progress, challenges, and key achievements.
Strategic Planning & Collaboration – Collaborate with other departments to set department‑wide goals and identify opportunities for growth and innovation. Contribute to strategic planning discussions related to marketing campaigns, outreach, and brand development. Support stakeholder engagement and partnership‑building efforts as needed.
Problem‑Solving & Decision‑Making – Address challenges that arise across sub‑teams, providing timely, effective solutions. Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive team environment. Escalate critical issues appropriately while maintaining momentum on deliverables.
Content, Media & Platform Oversight – Provide direction and oversight for content creation, community engagement, and multimedia initiatives. Support podcast and video planning, content development, and promotional strategies. Oversee the use and optimization of marketing platforms and tools. Ensure data‑informed decision‑making across marketing initiatives.
Market Research Weekly Work – Collect outreach information to educators; interns are expected to spend no more than 2 hours per week gathering this critical data required for outreach efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, digital media, sustainability, or a related field, or equivalent hands‑on marketing experience.
Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating marketing initiatives, campaigns, or content teams in a supervisory, project‑management, or strategic role.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with experience managing multiple marketing projects, campaigns, or content calendars simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams, provide clear creative direction, and collaborate across departments.
Experience using marketing, collaboration, and project‑management tools (e.g., Google Workspace, content calendars, analytics dashboards, task‑management platforms).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, fast‑paced marketing environment.
Proactive marketer with the initiative to propose new campaign ideas, optimize existing marketing processes, and expand brand reach and engagement.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring brand consistency, quality control, and timely delivery of marketing assets and deliverables.
Remote internship – all interns work from their individual home offices globally.
Access to a computer, tablet, or mobile device with an internet connection to perform duties, attend meetings, and communicate effectively.
Commit at least fifteen hours per week and meet weekly deadlines set by supervisors.
Duration and Compensation
Duration: 5 months (flexible start and end dates).
Unpaid position.
