Database Engineer
Position Overview: We are seeking a Development Database Engineer to support our DOD client. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions for mission-critical applications, with a particular emphasis on Cosmos DB and MySQL.
Key Responsibilities: Design and develop database schemas and structures, with expertise in Cosmos DB and MySQL. Optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and data integrity. Implement data security measures in line with DOD standards and industry best practices. Collaborate with development teams to integrate Cosmos DB and MySQL databases into applications. Troubleshoot database issues, perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions. Automate database tasks and processes where applicable, particularly in Cosmos DB and MySQL environments. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in database development and administration. Proficiency in SQL with extensive experience in MySQL. Hands-on experience with Cosmos DB, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning. Familiarity with database design principles and optimization techniques for both relational and NoSQL databases. Understanding of data security practices and compliance with DOD security standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with additional NoSQL databases. Knowledge of cloud-based database services, particularly in Azure. Familiarity with database performance monitoring and tuning tools. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
