Loan And Deposit Servicing Specialist I

Responsible for the ongoing review of all consumer accounts and loans originated and processed within the company. The primary purpose of the review is to ensure compliance with BSA and CIP policies, and approved underwriting guidelines are being used by all authorized lending personnel in granting credit. Responsible for reviewing and reporting on various items throughout Loan Operations including but not limited to: scanning documentation into applicable systems, processes and controls, loan documentation, collateral servicing and adherence to regulatory and loan policy guidelines. Job Duties: Utilizes the identified document tracking and retention system to review consumer and indirect loans for accuracy and completeness, and ensures the proper retention of those documents and checklists. Coordinates with loan officers to ensure corrections are completed timely and assist them with preventing future errors. Completes sample denial review for various loan types. Provides listing of overdue loans to supervisor or management as needed. Conduct quality control assessment of all new and modified accounts including general membership, business, and special accounts such as estate, trust, rep payee, and POD accounts, in accordance with BSA/CIP policies. Track and monitor progress of outstanding issues in a timely fashion and work closely with front line staff to remedy all issues. Understanding of all types of accounts and requirements to open. Track and report common errors or trends as well as account review status to supervisor, making recommendations on process improvements as necessary. Assist with maintaining the collateral management system implemented by the CU: Tracking collateral exceptions, monitoring daily reports within CMS, supporting the lending team with title and lien inquiries and filings, maintaining paper titles for collateral held by credit union including lease titles, and releasing of liens and titles for paid loan. Scanning and indexing of member account and loan documents to Synergy from channels including DocDownload processes from Origination systems, shared network drive locations, and eSign batches completed by other staff. Completes Appraisal processing functions including: Completing order requests from Mortgage and Home equity lending teams. Communicates with appraisers as needed requesting necessary updates or corrections of appraisals received; ensures all licensing and insurance information for approved appraiser listing is current and communicated with management as needed; ensures proper tracking and distribution of requests among the approved appraisers including retention of invoice information that is communicated to accounting department monthly. Administers member life and disability programs to include credit insurance and debt protection programs through Securian, as well as CUNA credit insurance programs. This process includes, but is not limited to, reviewing and completing monthly submission reports and processing of premiums within the servicing system, tracking and submission of claims, and processing and posting of claim benefits. Assists with month various month end reports including but not limited to those from IQQ, Positrac, and Episys, and balancing of GAP, MBP, and VSI general ledger accounts and appropriate tracking related to these processes Assists other teammates in the loan servicing area as needed. Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Communications generally require shorter and not in-depth discussions. Physical Requirements: Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to regularly perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Working Conditions: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. Mental and/or Emotional Requirements: Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be capable of effectively handling multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
