Salary: $85,000 - $95,000
Position Summary:
A Senior Sales Analyst will drive the use of retail data and analytics to formulate strategic initiatives and plans, effective decision-making, and continuous improvement in processes and performance.
Essential Job Functions:
Market Intelligence & Growth Strategy
- Conduct in-depth domestic and global market research to identify new retail growth opportunities across channels, retailers, categories, and product assortments.
- Utilize consumer, market, and competitive intelligence to assess trends, evaluate expansion potential, and inform strategic decision-making.
- Translate complex data sets into clear, logical insights that influence senior leadership and guide business strategy.
Data Analytics & Strategic Storytelling
- Prepare and deliver best-in-class analytical presentations to internal teams and retail partners, providing actionable insights on category performance, assortment, and business drivers.
- Leverage customer platforms, external datasets, POS reporting, and internal analytics to support strategic recommendations and improve retail execution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales, Merchandising, Design, Sourcing, Inventory, Planning, and Finance to support business objectives, optimize processes, and enable informed decision-making.
- Provide strategic analytical support during line reviews, assortment planning meetings, and customer strategy discussions.
Forecasting & Inventory Strategy
- Build accurate retail sales forecasts and replenishment plans across seasonal and core categories.
- Maintain a strong understanding of retail performance drivers and apply predictive insights to optimize inventory levels and ensure sales targets are met.
- Monitor internal and external inventory positions to identify risks, opportunities, and efficiency improvements.
Continuous Development & Thought Leadership
- Stay current with emerging analytic tools, industry trends, and retail/consumer insights to elevate the function and strengthen the role’s longterm impact.
- Drive adoption of innovative analytics, best practices, and new methodologies that support the evolving needs of the business.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail, Analytics, Economics, Marketing, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 5–8+ years of experience in retail, sales analytics, category management, merchandising analytics, or similar fields.
- Proficiency in data visualization and analytic tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to connect data insights to strategic and financial impacts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to influence executives and cross-functional partners through clear storytelling and insight.
- Experience in consumer goods, wholesale, or retail environments strongly preferred.
