Job Position: Porter / Steward
Wage: $18 - $19 per hour
Hours: Early Mornings & Afternoon shifts. Weekend and major holidays availability required.
Location: Airport/Rosemont area
Job Summary
As one of our Food for Thought Porters, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
You will also assist with kitchen prep work and cleaning duties as needed, sweep or scrub floors, clean garbage cans with water or steam, sort and remove trash and place it in designated pickup areas.
Responsibilities
• Maintaining kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
• Properly cleaning and organizing all cookware and small ware.
• Stocking supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
• Transferring supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
• Assisting with producing accurate inventory.
• Assisting with deliveries, when necessary.
Required Qualifications
• Additional background and security check required
• Attention to detail and sanitation rules.
• Must provide valid Food Handler Certificate.

• Ability to work in a team, as well as on individual tasks.
• Ability to thrive and remain even-tempered when faced with a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Experience working in high volume restaurants or cafés.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and move during the length of shift; be able to bend and kneel through the shift. The employee is required to use their hands to handle tools, grasp, and control objects. Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble items. The employee is continuously exposed to extreme temperatures. Working with knives, mincers, and other dangerous tools or equipment.
