The Role We are seeking a
Director of Finance
to join our leadership team and join a high-performing in-house finance function. This role will be the Head of Finance, own the entire finance function, and sit on our leadership team. This is a "Zero-to-One" opportunity for a high-performing finance operator to build a premier in-house finance function from the ground up.
You will create financial infrastructure, lead a revenue cycle team, and drive the financial strategy that supports our next phase of growth. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on finance operator who can lead day-to-day execution while driving long-term financial planning.
The manager level of the finance department will report directly to this role, including leaders across controller, accounting/bookkeeping, and billing/revenue cycle.
Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Reporting
Own annual budgeting, monthly reforecasting, and 12–24 month rolling forecasts built from the ground up
Oversee timely month-end close and ensure consistent financial reporting quality across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
Build driver-based financial models for revenue, staffing, clinician utilization, margins, and growth scenarios
Manage financial reporting across our multi-entity MSO/PC structure, including intercompany transactions and management fee documentation
Strengthen cash planning and working capital management
Revenue Cycle Management
Directly lead and develop our revenue cycle team (manager + 5-6 billing specialists), providing the expertise and accountability they need to grow
Partner with operations to improve collections, reduce denials, decrease lag days, and maintain AR under target
Evaluate revenue cycle performance by payer, identify problem areas, and drive process improvements
Assess the in-source vs. outsource strategy for RCM functions as the company scales
Provider Economics and Strategy
Build and maintain provider-level P&L models across both 1099 contractor and W2 compensation structures
Analyze clinician profitability by session volume, payer mix, no-show rates, and compensation model to inform hiring and retention strategy
Model the financial impact of new insurance payer contracts, including rate vs. volume tradeoffs and credentialing cost analysis
Support the CEO in payer contract negotiations with data-driven rate analysis
Measure and report on customer acquisition cost (CAC) by channel and client lifetime value (LTV) to guide marketing and growth investment
Infrastructure & Data
Build financial dashboards and reporting infrastructure that give leadership real-time visibility into business performance
Create reliable data pipelines between our EMR, billing systems, and financial reporting tools
Improve finance workflows and automation to support scaling without proportional headcount growth
Evaluate and recommend accounting system upgrades as the company outgrows its current tools
Qualifications
5+ years of progressive finance experience in healthcare services, with at least 3 years in a direct leadership capacity (behavioral health preferred)
Expert in Excel and BI tools, capable of building complex, integrated models without the support of a large corporate team.
Demonstrated experience managing or closely partnering with revenue cycle teams in a clinical setting
Demonstrated success building a finance function from scratch in a high-growth, founder-led, or PE-backed healthcare environment.
Strong financial modeling capabilities: budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and provider-level profitability modeling
Experience managing across functions: you’ve led or directly overseen some combination of accounting, FP&A, billing/RCM, or financial operations
Comfort operating in a high-growth, fast-moving environment where you’ll build systems that don’t exist yet
Familiarity with MSO/PC or multi-entity healthcare structures and intercompany accounting preferred
