A leading specialty insurance carrier is growing its Dallas presence and looking for a
Senior Casualty Underwriter
to take ownership of a profitable, established book of medium‑to‑large accounts. This is a high‑visibility, market‑facing role where underwriting discipline, strategic broker engagement, and long‑term portfolio performance truly matter.

This position will also be taking over a well‑established book!
What You’ll Lead You’ll play a central role in driving profitable growth and strengthening the carrier’s market position by:
Managing and expanding a profitable book of casualty business
Evaluating and pricing complex risks across large deductible, excess, and specialty programs
Structuring tailored coverage solutions based on exposure, loss history, financials, and operations
Serving as a senior market presence and deepening relationships with national and regional brokers
Negotiating terms and communicating underwriting decisions with clarity and confidence
Monitoring portfolio performance, renewal strategy, and emerging risk trends
Collaborating with actuarial, claims, and risk services to align on account strategy
Mentoring junior underwriters and underwriting assistants
Supporting underwriting initiatives, process improvements, and product development
Ensuring documentation accuracy, compliance, and underwriting discipline
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field
5–10+ years of casualty underwriting experience (medium‑to‑large accounts preferred)
Strong broker relationships in Texas or the South Central region
Advanced technical knowledge of casualty forms, pricing, and risk evaluation
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
Strategic mindset with disciplined underwriting judgment
Hybrid schedule based in Dallas, TX
Occasional travel for broker meetings, client visits, and industry events
