Job Description Summary The Multifamily Assistant Property Manager is responsible for maintaining our communities to a market‑ready standard, ensuring a high level of service at all times. Assistant Property Managers are also responsible for building and motivating high performing teams to maximize the performance of the property.

Job Title Assistant Property Manager, Multifamily

Compensation $25/hour – $26/hour starting full‑time wage, eligible for benefits and additional earnings. The compensation offered will range from $22.10 to $26.00, depending on factors such as location, experience and qualifications. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

Essential Job Duties

Ensuring the smooth running of our community in a fast‑paced environment.

Assist the Property Manager with overall operations, including maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, vacancy anticipation, marketing, lease renewals, service contracts, expense control, audits, etc.

Assist the Property Manager with providing superior customer service and communication to our residents and prospects to enhance customer satisfaction and increase renewals, revenue, reputation, and profitability.

Complete lease/renewal paperwork to ensure completion to company standards.

Track and evaluate advertising and all client traffic.

Assist the team by maintaining and modeling the Cushman & Wakefield mission to be the best national management company.

Assist the Property Manager with the day‑to‑day operations of the entire on‑site team, ensuring that all Cushman & Wakefield policies and procedures are being followed.

Maintain effective on‑site staff through interviewing, hiring, and coaching the team as necessary.

Maintain residents’ files in accordance with company standards.

Maintain a positive living environment for community residents through prompt conflict resolution and consistent follow‑up.

Manage and maintain all aspects of overall community budget and finances.

Work with leasing staff to ensure that leasing/marketing goals are being met.

Competencies

Effective communication and customer service skills.

Computer literate, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation skills.

General office, bookkeeping, and sales skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Determine leasing opportunities for staff and work on goal setting – improving the performance of each staff member.

Supervise day‑to‑day operations of the team, ensuring that all C&W policies and procedures are being followed.

Work with leasing staff to ensure that leasing/marketing goals are being met.

Be able to manage a team.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Vocational school required.

Experience

3+ years of on‑site multifamily Property Management experience required, including leasing and assistant positions.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The role requires regular travel outside between properties in varying weather conditions.

Physical Demands Stand and walk for extended or continuous periods, ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools, and travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions. Remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for 85% of the time. Use office machinery and exert up to 25 pounds occasionally or frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
