The Corporate Tax Manager will be part of the Corporate Tax Solutions team, responsible for corporate tax compliance, tax planning, and ASC 740 income tax provision engagements. This role involves managing client engagements, mentoring staff, and collaborating with internal tax specialists to deliver high-quality tax solutions across multi‑state and global clients.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage corporate tax engagements from planning through completion
Provide tax planning, compliance, and consulting services
Review and oversee corporate tax returns for accuracy and optimization
Conduct ASC 740 income tax provision (prep & review)
Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and deliverables
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate associates and senior associates
Identify opportunities for business development and client growth
Perform tax research and provide technical guidance
Respond to IRS, state, and local tax authority inquiries
Maintain strong client relationships and engagement quality
Collaborate with Washington National Tax Office (WNTO) and internal teams
Participate in training and professional development activities
Must-Have Requirements
Active CPA (MA) OR JD with active law license
Strong experience in ASC 740 tax provision (prep, review, audit)
Recent public accounting experience (Top 15 firm or large regional firm)
Experience supporting large, multi-state/national/global clients
4-7+ years of corporate tax experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Willingness to work onsite 3 days/week
Required Skills
Strong expertise in corporate tax compliance and planning
Deep knowledge of ASC 740 (Income Tax Provision)
Proficiency in US GAAP and corporate tax regulations
Experience with:
Multi-state taxation (SALT)
International tax and transfer pricing
Strong analytical, technical, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent client communication and presentation skills
Strong engagement and project management capabilities
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with OneSource Tax Provision (OTP)
Professional services/public accounting background
Stable career progression (no frequent job changes)
Candidates currently at Manager level (1-2 years) or strong Senior Associates ready for promotion
