Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
Under close supervision, this position is responsible for planning, scheduling and administration of proposal efforts. Ensures proposals are developed in accordance with the request for proposal (RFP) specifications and Company standards, and participates in the collection and accumulation of appropriate cost, schedule, and technical elements. Documents findings, communicates results to proposal or management staff. Interacts with internal and may interact with external personnel. Participates as a member of contract negotiating teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and edits non-technical sections of proposals and assists technical authors in maintaining requirements.
Participates in cost and pricing reviews with management and customers and ensures that proposals are well written and meet the RFP requirements and Company standards.
Participates in the preparation of pre-proposal and proposal related submissions, RFI - Requests for information, as well as recommending the layout of the proposal.
May prepare research and promotional material, including marketing brochures and displays, describing the organization's various projects and technical capabilities.
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or related discipline. Equivalent professional proposal experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
Must have a basic understanding of proposal concepts, principles and theory; knowledge of FAR and related governmental rules and regulations; and experience demonstrating a broad application of those principles, concepts, and practices.
Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of non-routine problems.
Must have good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform multiple tasks in one technical proposal area.
Able to work extended hours and travel as required.
