
Residential Lending Internship

Overview
The Consumer & Residential Lending Intern will support both the Consumer Lending and Residential Lending teams during the busiest time of year. This role provides hands‑on exposure to the full equity and residential lending process, from application through closing. The intern will assist with loan file documentation, borrower follow‑ups, and coordination with third parties to ensure deadlines and service standards are met. This internship is ideal for a detail‑oriented individual interested in gaining practical experience in consumer and residential lending operations while contributing directly to production and customer service goals. BankNewport’s Summer Internship Program will run June 1, 2026 – August 14, 2026 and will be located onsite in Middletown, RI. Actively participate in the BankNewport Summer Internship Program by assisting the department with various duties and tasks. At the culmination of the internship, the intern will create a final presentation to showcase the skills and knowledge acquired through the program.
Responsibilities Social Media & Content Support
Assist in creating engaging social media content, including copy, visuals, and short‑form ideas aligned with brand guidelines
Support the development of social media calendars and campaign themes
Monitor social media engagement and help surface opportunities for content optimization
Stay informed on social media trends and bring fresh ideas to the team
Assist with tracking performance of social posts and website updates
Team & Agency Collaboration
Participate in Marketing team meetings, production meetings, and select agency calls
Assist with meeting preparation, note‑taking, and follow‑ups as needed
Collaborate with team members to support ongoing campaigns and initiatives
Analytics & Insights
Review and monitor performance using Google Analytics, identifying trends, high‑performing content, and areas for improvement
Prepare basic summaries and insights to share with the Marketing team to support campaign
General Marketing Support
Conduct research on audiences, competitors, and marketing trends
Assist with preparing presentations, reports, and internal marketing materials
Support event preparation, promotions, or campaign execution as needed
Perform other marketing‑related tasks as assigned to support team priorities
Other Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Performs related and unrelated duties as may be required.
Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience or familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
Basic knowledge of Google Analytics, Excel, and Canva preferred
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Comfortable collaborating with cross‑functional teams and business partners
Creative, curious, and eager to learn and contribute ideas
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
High School Diploma/ GED Equivalent
Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Supervisory Scope No supervisory responsibility
Independent Action
Performs work within established guidelines and according to specific procedures.
Generally refers specific problems to manager where clarification of policies and procedures is needed.
