Healthcare Venture Ambassador: Lead MedTech Innovation

The TUM Venture Labs are a joint initiative of UnternehmerTUM and the Technical University of Munich (TUM). At the TUM Venture Lab Healthcare, we support science- and clinic-driven start-up initiatives in the fields of Digital Health, MedTech, and Biotech—from initial idea to investment readiness. We combine entrepreneurial excellence with medical research, clinical application, and a strong network of academia, hospitals, industry, and investors. As part of a collaborative project limited to three years, we are working together with Bavarian university hospitals to build a cross-site program for technology transfer and venture creation in healthcare. The goal is to systematically identify clinically driven innovations, further develop them, and accelerate their transition into pilot projects, spin-offs, and sustainable collaborations. Venture Ambassador Healthcare

to join a central, mobile venture team working across Bavaria with university hospitals. In this role, you will take on a highly autonomous and impactful position: identifying entrepreneurial potential, driving its development, and actively contributing to the creation and evolution of a new cross-site program. Your Mission

• Scouting and evaluation of clinically driven innovation and start-up projects (30%) Independently identify, screen, and prioritize innovation projects from within and around university hospitals (internal/external); conduct and manage structured discussions with physicians, researchers, and other innovation stakeholders; identify innovation potential and needs, and derive and implement appropriate support measures • Development of a cross-site incubator program (25%) Contribute conceptually and take operational responsibility for a virtual incubator (e.g. formats, content, processes); independently organize and deliver program elements such as office hours, expert sessions, or workshops • Steering and development of venture and transfer projects (20%) Independently support selected teams across multiple development stages, e.g. regarding clinical need, use case definition, validation strategy, regulatory requirements, pilot implementation, team building, and readiness for venture creation; act as an equal sparring partner for experienced project teams • Proactive stakeholder management and network building (15%) Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, academia, industry, funding bodies, investors, and ecosystem partners; position yourself as a key contact for innovation and entrepreneurship in the clinical environment • Ownership of project monitoring, reporting, and development (10%) Take responsibility for KPI tracking and reporting; actively contribute to the design and continuous improvement of selection criteria, processes, and support formats Your Profile

• Several years of relevant experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, venture building, technology transfer, or start-up support—ideally in a medical, clinical, or healthcare-related environment • Experience or focus in one or more areas such as MedTech, Biotech, or Digital Health, with a solid understanding of challenges related to validation, regulation, and market access • Interest in and experience with technological developments in healthcare, particularly the growing role of artificial intelligence in clinical and medical technology applications • Ability to quickly grasp complex medical-technological projects, critically assess them, and act as a strategic sparring partner for teams • Proven track record of independently driving projects or initiatives, structuring them, and delivering results—even in complex, interdisciplinary settings • High level of autonomy, structured working style, and strong sense of ownership • Excellent communication skills and confident interaction with diverse stakeholders—from clinical experts to founders and investors • Willingness to travel regularly within Bavaria, as the role requires close collaboration with multiple university hospitals on site • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken What we offer

The employment relationship will be established with the Technical University of Munich (TUM) or TUM University Hospital for the role within the TUM Venture Lab Healthcare.
