The Mom Project is excited to support Etsy with their search for a Social Content Designer to join their team on a contract basis.
About The Role Etsy is seeking a Social Content Designer to design and build compelling visual assets for paid social campaigns and programs. With an exceptional eye for design, typography, color, and composition, you’ll translate creative concepts into engaging visual content that connects with multiple buyer audiences across platforms. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Content Production, you’ll leverage your deep social expertise and eye for merchandising to create compelling, shoppable content that elevates the best of Etsy across categories.
Responsibilities
Design and produce compelling visual content, including static and video formats that require graphics, overlays, animations, and reversioning for social media platforms with a focus on Meta and Pinterest
Strong skills in motion graphics and animation for a social-first audience
Collaborate with producers and our in-house video/creator team to develop and execute visual concepts for paid social campaigns
Build and deliver engaging, social-native assets for paid formats, ensuring content meets the campaign brief and is tailored to platform best practices and target audiences
Ideate and develop visual content that is tailored to engage multiple buyer audiences, including Gen Z, Millennials, and beyond
Source, vet, and track exceptional Etsy merchandise and product photography for integration in static and video assets
Monitor design and social trends, identifying ways to connect them to Etsy while maintaining our brand identity
Partner with our in-house Brand Design team to source additional photo assets and apply creative toolkits and guidelines to paid content
Finalize all visual assets for deployment; organize and upload content for approval and launch
Become an expert in Etsy’s brand identity: ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and maintains a cohesive visual identity while meeting platform and paid best practices
Utilize and apply brand guidelines, while also being able to expand and build upon brand toolkits to make new templates.
Skills And Qualifications
3+ years of experience in graphic design and content creation for social media, preferably within the retail or fashion industry, with recent experience specifically across paid social campaigns and formats
Deep knowledge of the social media landscape: you’re immersed in social content trends and channel dynamics with a pulse on cultural conversations
A strong aesthetic sense and an eye for art direction and visual merchandising
A creative portfolio demonstrating a passion for digital design and fluency in visual communication on social media
An understanding of paid measurement and a demonstrated track record of optimizing creative and content based on performance insights
A keen eye for detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple projects simultaneously across different channels and campaigns under tight deadlines
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, familiarity with Premiere) and Canva is a must, and comfortable working with Figma
Hours and Location
M-F, 40 hours/week
This hybrid role must be available to work out of the Brooklyn office as needed (1-2 times per week).
