
Assistant Director of Residence Life and Deputy Title IX Coordinator

The Assistant Director of Residence Life supports the overall educational experience of Centenary's students by leading one of the College's residential areas and serving as a campus Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serving as the live-in professional for one residential community, focused on the intentional development of students through the implementing the department’s Residential Engagement Model.
Training and supervising student members of the Resident Assistant staff.
Mentoring students and contributing to the development of student leaders.
Advising student groups, including but not necessarily limited to a Hall Council.
Working collaboratively with faculty and providing primary staff support to one or more faculty‑directed living‑learning communities, if in the residential area.
Living on campus and participating in central staff duty rotation.
Serving as a student conduct hearing officer.
Serving as Title IX Investigator, filling adjudicative, administrative, compliance, educational, investigative, and/or other roles, as needed.
Plan and implement campus bystander training and intervention programming.
Accessible and reachable by telephone or text message at times other than College business hours for the purpose of emergencies after hours and on weekends.
Other related administrative functions, projects, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises student members of the Resident Assistant staff.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
MINIMUM
Bachelor’s degree.
Previous experience working in residence life.
A commitment to the engagement and holistic development of students.
Campus residency is required.
Ability to fulfill job requirements in a high‑energy, high‑traffic area and willingness to work some nights and weekends.
PREFERRED
Master’s degree in higher education administration, college student development, or a related field.
Experience supervising residential student staff.
Excellent computer skills, including information systems such as Microsoft Access and SunGard Banner.
Experience advising residential student government or other student organizations.
Experience adjudicating student conduct cases and/or experience in Title IX administrative, compliance, educational, and/or investigative processes.
Experience with a selective, residential, liberal arts college.
