
CORP AP/SAFETY SPECIALIST

Responsible for supporting the development, coordination, and execution of safety initiatives across corporate, retail, and other business units as needed. Assist in processes and programs to promote injury prevention and OSHA compliance. Assist in integrating safety practices into new business processes, equipment rollouts, and training programs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and alignment with corporate safety standards. Monitor incident trends, manage safety signage and technology platforms, and contribute to project efforts that enhance overall safety performance. RESPONSIBILITIES
Support partnerships corporately, participating in planning/integration meetings for new business processes, procedures and the use of new equipment
Attend process roll out meetings/visit test stores to ensure set up and process requirements are complete and aligned with Kroger best practices including Personal Protective Equipment, safety systems, and programs
Support OSHA & Training manager on the development/implementation of training materials that pertain to safety
Support third-party vendor relationships and Safety supply vendors; enhance relationships for improved implementation/execution of each program
Support the equipment review process for safety; assess the risks associated with each new program, process and piece of equipment and report out on findings with recommendations and feedback
Plan and facilitate bi-annual safety events, including concept development, execution, and store engagement strategies.
Manage the safety signage program. Ensure that required signage, replenishments and order guides are up to date. Lead the creation and rollout of new store sign projects.
Monitor and analyze store-level incident trends and communicate recommended next steps to the division for appropriate follow-up and resolution.
Follow up on reported Ethic Point allegations and coordinate next steps with the division
Support Safety Manager with project management efforts focused on implementing solutions that address injury trends, ensure compliance, and improve overall safety program performance.
Assist in the administration and implementation of safety-related technology platforms and systems, ensuring data integrity, user accessibility and experience, and overall system functionality.
Travel up to 10% to retail divisions as needed
Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum
High School Diploma and/or Minimum of 3 years in a safety role
Complete OSHA 10hour certification
Knowledge of regulatory standards, i.e. OSHA, DOT, NFPA, ANSI
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong training, leadership and facilitation skills
Desired
Bachelors Degree and/or 3 years in safety leadership role
Complete OSHA 30hour certification
