In this dynamic role, you’ll design engaging training programs, manage our Learning Management System (LMS), and collaborate with teams across the organization to deliver impactful professional development initiatives for adult learners. What You Will Do: Design impactful learning: Create engaging training programs for adult learners across instructor-led, virtual, web-based, and self-paced formats. Lead the way in learning design: Develop and enhance programs using best practices in instructional design and adult learning. Drive collaboration: Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to create high-quality, relevant content. Manage the LMS experience: Administer the LMS, including course setup, user support, and reporting. Keep systems running smoothly: Maintain training data in the LMS and provide technical support for learning platforms. Support training coordination: Partner with program offices and maintain current listings of training staff and coordinators. Annual Salary Range:
$54,920 - $65,000 Your Specific Responsibilities include the following: This position serves as an instructional designer and LMS coordinator in the Organizational Development Office (ODO). Responsibilities Design, develop, implement, maintain, and enhance learning and development programs, processes, and supporting materials (e.g., program implementation and training guides, process communication tools, job aids, presentations, video, multimedia) for adult learners across media and delivery options: instructor-led, virtual, web-based, self-study, and assessment products. Apply learning theories, instructional design models, and technology to develop training programs, job aids, courses, and educational content that meet organizational goals in compliance with standards. Coordinate and manage the Department’s LMS, including course administration, user support, and reporting. Input training sessions and information into the LMS; update advertisements, registrations, and completion data; use survey tools to evaluate training experiences; support program offices to ensure delivery of planned training; maintain current listings of Training Staff and Unit Training Coordinators. Assist with ODO systems and projects; support implementation, coordination, and ongoing improvements; provide operational and administrative support; track timelines, coordinate with internal and external partners, and compile reports to inform program evaluation. Serve as a trainer for ODO programs, delivering professional development experiences and employing effective teaching strategies for adult learners. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of: Learning management systems and applications. Adult learning theories and instructional design concepts. Design principles for in-person and virtual training projects. Surveying to research and gather actionable data. Skills in: Microsoft SharePoint and Teams; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Photoshop, etc. Designing and developing curriculum. Customer service with urgency, practicality, accountability, and integrity. Critical thinking and strong analytical skills. Effective verbal and written communication; producing and organizing supporting materials. Data analysis and reporting to inform improvements. Ability to: Translate technical information for a general audience. Prioritize and complete complex work assignments. Think creatively and offer innovative solutions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Work independently and as part of a team. Be flexible and adapt to changing environments and processes. Other Job-Related Requirements: 25% Travel may be required. Minimum Qualifications: Four years of professional or nonprofessional experience in instruction, instructional design, curriculum development, adult education, performance improvement, or organizational or staff development. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for four years of the required experience.
