Job Overview The Maintenance Trade Lead coordinates the repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications, using hand and power tools, and testing equipment.
Qualifications Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid New Jersey Driver's license
Two to three years of relevant experience in Hospital, Industrial maintenance or construction
Preferred
Pneumatic Tube operation experience
Scheduling Requirements
Full-Time, Day Hours
Monday - Friday, 7am-3:30pm with flexibility to work various shifts if needed
Essential Functions
Must be familiar and capable of performing masonry installation and repair.
Correctly and consistently uses hospital computer‑based programs to schedule, track, and close scheduled and unscheduled tasks, order materials, complete performance reviews, and document work‑related issues.
Utilizes methods such as two‑way radios, smartphones, and email to communicate with management regarding work‑related issues.
Demonstrates ability to replace, repair and troubleshoot steam traps, pressure–reducing valves, control valves, hot water, chiller water, and steam coils; and to replace any existing plumbing fixture.
Performs emergency drywall patch and repair, including tape, spackling, and paint.
Accurately identifies voltage and current in any electrical panel or device using amp‑meters, voltmeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
Diagnoses shorts to ground in motors and other devices, possesses knowledge of emergency power systems, and performs monthly generator tests.
Troubleshoots issues with electronic and low‑voltage systems such as nurse call systems, pneumatic tube systems, automatic doors, automatic gates, TVs, and beds.
Troubleshoots HVAC systems and makes necessary adjustments or repairs as needed.
