Purchasing Specialist Research and Development

Summary The Project Procurement Specialist works with the project management, sales, production and logistics departments to buy the best quality equipment, goods and services at the most competitive prices. This role s primary responsibility is to support the purchasing needs of our Research & Development division, with secondary responsibilities including providing support to peers in the Tempo and Solid divisions. This role will support the D365 system data to ensure the proper information (POs, vendors, delivery dates, etc.) are input, updated, and completed to procure goods/services and accomplish the work. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Adheres to purchasing policies, processes and procedures Uses knowledge of materials, work planning and methods, engineering processes and procedures to coordinate product deliveries Negotiates best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements Uses knowledge to order items necessary in support of continual production cycles Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality Liaison between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers Identify potential suppliers and build/maintain good relationships Negotiate and agree to contracts and monitor their progress including quality of services provided Keep contract files and use them as references Produce reports using computer software Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors. Ensure suppliers are aware of business objectives Attend meetings and trade conferences Train PD team members on purchasing policies, procedures, and methods (as applicable) Daily management of purchasing system data on Microsoft D365 Finance and Operations Troubleshoot conflicting information, purchasing delivery dates, QA Inspection(s) and communicates with suppliers, project managers, logistics, and building departments to coordinate needs Performs other duties as assigned Fosters a culture that values family, innovation, collaboration and empowerment Follows all safety and workplace policies Education/Certification Bachelor s degree in a business-related area preferred or equivalent experience Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations ERP system Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of purchasing related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks Experience working in a cross-functional role Experience in an ETO (Engineered To Order) environment is a plus Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting may be required throughout the workday Flexibility to travel between multiple PD locations Benefits and perks we offer to full-time, regular employees Health, Dental and Vision Insurance 4% 401k Match with 5% Employee Contribution Paid Time Off Parental Leave 8 Paid Holidays Flex Time STD, LTD and Group Life Insurance FSA and HSA Options Voluntary Life Insurance Critical Illness Insurance Accident Insurance Legal and Identity Theft Plans Employee Assistance Program Employee Referral Program Tuition Reimbursement Career Advancement Professional Development Opportunities Employee Recognition English as a Second Language Education Online Training Opportunities
