
NEWSCAST PRODUCER (PRIMARY) - KCBD

KCBD is looking for a hard-working, creative, and energetic storyteller to join our award-winning team as a newscast producer. We will invest in, train, and provide opportunities for the winning candidate to grow and prosper.
Lubbock's legacy station is looking for a newscast producer. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer who understands creative visual storytelling and professional delivery.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Produce, with other producers and anchors, our #1-rated newscasts. You will collaborate with other team members to deliver the best possible product on-air.
Gather and verify news information
Conduct thorough interviews, research, and fact-check
Deliver content to digital and social media platforms
Be a team player
Qualifications/Requirements:
Empathy for others. A team-builder, with a dedication to collaboration and getting it right while serving our community.
Ability to write conversationally and creatively
Degree in journalism/communications/English or equivalent background preferred
Some newsroom experience preferred
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Availability to work various hours as breaking news or special events warrant, but understand we have a sizeable staff to spread across all dayparts.
