Port.io, Austin, TX, United States
About Port
At
Port.io , we are building an open and flexible Agentic Engineering Platform for modern engineering organizations. Following our recent $100M Series C funding round, we are in a phase of rapid hypergrowth with strong enterprise momentum. We act as the central nervous system for engineering, enabling platform teams to unify their stack and expose it as a governed layer through golden paths for developers and AI agents. By combining rich engineering context, workflows, and actions, we help organizations transition from manual processes to autonomous, AI‑assisted engineering workflows while maintaining control and accountability. As a product‑led company, we believe in building world‑class platforms that fundamentally shape how modern engineering organizations operate. Port is growing fast, and we're looking for a
Communications Manager
to build and drive the communications function that establishes Port as the defining voice platform engineering and IDP for the agentic era.
You are a strategic communicator who understands how narrative, credibility, and consistency compound over time. You know how to work analysts, media, the ecosystem, and keep a content engine running — all while making sure every external touchpoint reflects a coherent, compelling point of view. You’re comfortable operating independently, rolling up your sleeves, and influencing senior stakeholders on how Port should show up in the market. Reporting to Head of Product Marketing, the role sits at the intersection of product storytelling, market trends, ecosystem, and corporate marketing — translating Port’s product narrative into external credibility across every communications channel.
What You’ll Do Analyst Relations
Own Port’s analyst relations program end‑to‑end, including relationships with key firms covering platform engineering, developer experience, and DevOps (e.g., Gartner, Forrester, IDC, Redmonk)
Manage analyst briefings, inquiry calls, and research participation — ensuring Port is accurately and favorably represented in relevant reports, Magic Quadrants, and market landscapes
Track analyst coverage and emerging narratives; synthesize insights for internal stakeholders to inform product positioning and GTM strategy
Develop and maintain analyst‑facing materials including briefing decks, company backgrounders, and use case overviews
Thought Leadership, Content, and Speaking
Drive Port’s thought leadership strategy, establishing executives and subject‑matter experts as credible, distinctive voices in the platform engineering IDP and developer experience space
Own the editorial calendar and company blog — commissioning, editing, and publishing content across product announcements, engineering perspectives, and industry commentary
Identify timely hooks, trends, and category‑defining angles that Port can own across owned channels, third‑party publications, and the speaking circuit
Manage the CFP process and speaker bureau — developing proposals, managing a roster of internal speakers
Partner with the social and design teams to shape the messaging and narrative strategy behind major corporate announcements across social channels
Curate the monthly newsletter
Support Public Relations
Support PR activities and assist with awards submissions, as needed, in collaboration with external agencies and media partners
Help prepare press materials for key announcements, as needed
Message Consistency, Tracking
Review and provide input on external‑facing content — from website copy to conference abstracts — to ensure alignment with Port’s core narrative
Track and report on communications KPIs
Requirements
5+ years of experience in communications, content marketing, or a related field in a B2B SaaS or enterprise tech environment
Proven experience managing analyst relations programs for B2B tech — preferably in developer tools/cloud space
Strong editorial instincts and writing ability — you can draft an exec byline, edit a technical blog post, and write a media pitch, all in the same week
Comfortable operating as a generalist who can zoom out to strategy and zoom in to execution
Strong cross‑functional collaborator with the ability to influence without authority
Nice to Have
Experience in the developer tools, DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure space
Existing relationships with analysts or journalists covering the enterprise tech or developer ecosystem
Experience working with or managing a PR agency
Comfort presenting to and advising executive stakeholders on communications strategy
Why Port
Define the communications function at a category‑creating company in hypergrowth
Work alongside a product and engineering team that gives you real substance to work with
High‑visibility role with direct access to executive leadership
Collaborative, low‑ego culture with strong cross‑functional support
