As the Spirits & WineSpecialist , you willserve as an in-store expert in the selection, tasting, and pairing of spirits and wines, providinga world-class guest experience by delivering personalized recommendations and fostering a passion for spirits and wine education. This roleensuresthe Spirits & Wines department is positioned as a destination for wine enthusiasts and casual shoppers alike. The Spirits & Wine Specialist will alsoassistwith merchandising, inventory management, and events to enhance our store’s unique focus on special occasions, dinners, and holidays. You will supportspiritsand wineinventory accuracy, ensure rotation standards and presentation, while supporting guest engagement and department readiness for promotions and seasonalevents.Bycombiningattentiontodetailwithstrongorganizationalskills,you willinspireguest confidence, uphold compliance, and help drive sales success.
What You’ll Do:
This role embodies passion, excellence, hospitality, and teamwork, delivering an exceptional guest experience whilemaintainingoperational integrity.
Executeplanogramsandmaintainaccurateproductplacementandsignage.
Assist guests with event planning and wine selections tailored to their specific needs, especially for holidays, special occasions, and meal pairings.
Engageguestswithafriendly,helpfulapproachwhenonthesalesfloor.
Manage the wine department’s merchandising, ensuring an organized and attractive presentation of products that align with seasonal trends, special occasions, and guest preferences.
Verifydeliveriesforaccuracyandfreshness,ensuringproperreceivingandstorageprocedures.
Reduceshrinkthroughproactiverotationanddamagecontrolpractices.
Availability: This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
Qualifications: At a minimum, what you’ll need:
1+yearsofexperienceinretail,grocery,restaurant,orhospitalityoperations.
Strongattentiontodetailwithorganizationalskills,abilitytomultitask,andworkatafastpace.
Mustbeatleast18yearsofage.
Preferred Qualifications:
Highschooldiplomaorequivalent.
Retail,culinary,and/orgroceryexperience.
Knowledge of wine, spirits,wineand spirits production, and understanding of the wine and spirits industry.
Wine and Spirits certification (e.g.WSET, Sommelier Certification, CSS- Certified Specialist of Spirits).
Experiencewithelectronicshelflabelsystems,inventory managementtechnology,orAI-enabled retail tools.
Physical and Work Conditions:
Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, and exposure to extreme temperatures.
Ability to use tools and equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
Required to spend long periods of time on their feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law).
Required to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.
