Content Manager
A mission-driven organization is seeking a strategic and skilled Content Manager to lead written content and storytelling efforts across the organization. This role is responsible for developing and executing integrated content strategies that elevate the organization's voice, strengthen its brand, and clearly communicate its impact to diverse audiences. The Content Manager will oversee the full content lifecycle from defining messaging and strategy to coordinating execution and delivering high-quality content across multiple platforms. This individual is a strong writer, strategic thinker, and storyteller who can translate complex ideas, research, and initiatives into compelling, accessible narratives. Content Manager Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage comprehensive content strategies aligned with organizational priorities and initiatives Lead the planning, writing, and execution of newsletters, web content, thought leadership, and impact storytelling Produce high-quality written content including articles, editorials, blog posts, speeches, press releases, and web copy Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to shape messaging and communicate organizational initiatives Conduct interviews with internal and external stakeholders to develop compelling stories and content Translate research, data, and technical information into clear, engaging content for various audiences Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and messaging across all written materials Manage content calendars, workflows, timelines, and approvals Support media relations through drafting press materials, talking points, and editorial content Apply SEO best practices and accessibility standards to optimize content performance Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with brand standards Content Manager Qualifications
Required: 7+ years of experience in content development, marketing, communications, or related field Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats Experience developing and executing content strategies Ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, compelling narratives Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior leadership Preferred: Experience writing thought leadership, editorials, speeches, or impact stories Experience with website content development and SEO best practices Familiarity with nonprofit, civic, media, or mission-driven environments Experience supporting media relations and public communications
