SUMMARY OF POSITION
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Athletics, the Assistant Director for Digital Media (ADD) position will, through a courteous, helpful, unbiased and professional manner, coordinate and oversee all media and communication aspects of the video department of Converse Athletics. The ADD will be responsible for the successful execution of planning, developing and administering all digital media aspects of the athletic department, like creation of a creative digital media strategy including web streamed broadcasts, the staffing and production of in‑house videoboard displays, digital social media strategy, and creative development of mobile and video content for all avenues of communications. This position will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining dynamic content that strategically enhances the Converse Athletics brand in external communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership – 50%
Provide oversight and lead execution of all digital content across govalkyires.com and social media platforms by guiding his/her team to ideate, create, design, and execute content and strategy.
Develop and deploy digital, social, mobile and video content for communications and branding initiatives surrounding Converse Athletic teams and events. This content will include but not be limited to hype videos, highlight videos, interviews, and specialty segments.
Track and apply social media analytics to ensure quality and plan strategies.
Works closely with Athletics Communications, University Marketing Department and Game Operations staff to ensure coordinated and strategic communication effort that increases the athletic department's brand and fan engagement while upholding branding guidelines, logo usage and identity standards.
Foster an innovative and creative environment that is responsive to the Athletics Department and University needs while ensuring that brand identity standards and brand personality are reflected in all Department communications.
Serves as the department's key expert on Formetco technology and trends that support content on videoboard.
Content and project management Services – 40%
Develop creative content that enhances revenue streams through fan engagement, brand awareness, advertising, and public relations strategies in collaboration with the communication department.
Develop partnerships across campus with the communications and marketing department, student groups, and faculty to increase campus engagement as well as student internship and staffing opportunities.
Provide daily project management for the creative team consisting of photography, videography, graphic design and digital content on videoboard and social media.
Oversee and design digital graphic design, while working with our Athletic Communication team to define brand look-and-feel on a seasonal basis.
Serve on the athletic department's senior staff reporting directly to and working closely with the Deputy Director of Athletics.
Supervisory Responsibilities – 10%
Oversee a staff of graduate assistants and student interns (when applicable) to develop the overall media strategy and create a foundation of success across all sports.
Supervise the Social Media interns (when applicable) - including training, mentoring, evaluating performance and handling performance.
Supervise and run game day video production, web stream, and in-house videoboards.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Work experience in a related field
Experience Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Light Room and Formetco videoboard
Experience in working with photos and video cameras, microphones and lighting techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
Work or volunteer experience within an intercollegiate athletic department
Demonstrable success achieving goals within an inclusive team setting
Strong interpersonal skills
Proven experience in organizational communications
Knowledge/Skills/abilities Video Content/Video Board
Must have knowledge of Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe After Effects
Must have knowledge of Blueframe Technology and Production Truck software
Must have a working knowledge of Formetco Video Boards
Have the ability to creative and create unique and original content for Social Media and In-arena Video Board content.
Must have a working knowledge of live production setup and breakdown
Should have some knowledge on how to create motion graphics
Photography/Videography
Must have a working knowledge of how to work both photo and video cameras
Must have a working knowledge of how to run and organize photography and video shoots
Must have a working knowledge of industry lighting and microphone equipment
Graphic Design
Have the ability to create unique and original content for Social Media and the In‑Arena Video Board.
Must have knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Illustrator.
