RETS Associates, on behalf of its Client is seeking an
Associate
of Multifamily Asset Management to support the performance and execution of a growing multifamily portfolio. This role partners closely with Asset Management leadership, external property management, and internal teams to drive financial performance, operational efficiency, and value creation across the portfolio. This role is based in Newport Beach, CA and is in office 5 days per week. Ideal candidates should be local, have 1-4 years of Multifamily Asset Management experience, strong preference on institutional grade experience. Key Responsibilities Support oversight of a multifamily portfolio, tracking financial performance, cash flow, and key operating metrics Analyze monthly/quarterly financials, budgets, and variance reports; identify trends and key risks Partner with revenue management to optimize pricing strategies aligned with underwriting and market conditions Assist in executing asset-level business plans, including value-add initiatives and operational improvements Collaborate with property management and vendors to ensure successful execution of leasing and operating strategies Support annual budgeting, capital planning, and site inspections; evaluate ROI on capital projects Prepare portfolio reporting and investment summaries for senior leadership and partners Contribute to acquisitions and dispositions by providing asset management insights Qualifications 35 years of experience in multifamily asset management, or related real estate roles Strong financial acumen with experience in analysis, budgeting, and forecasting Understanding of multifamily operations, capital projects, and performance drivers Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and communication skills Proficiency in tools such as Yardi, RealPage, Excel/financial modeling Bachelors degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field
