Smurfit Westrock is a vertically integrated global manufacturer and designer of sustainable packaging materials, as well as a developer and integrator of innovative packaging machinery and automated systems. The Smurfit Westrock Box on Demand team focuses on a suite of technologies to help customers in fulfillment and industrial manufacturing environments right-size their packaging and automate the packaging process. The Technical Sales Representative is a dynamic consultative sales professional leveraging a highly technical background to deliver solutions to the customer and drive sales territory growth, while managing a territory in the midwestern region of the United States and Canada. A successful representative will be a results-focused individual who can create and manage strategy around target opportunities, sales pipeline, and closing business that often includes the sale of capital equipment, machinery leases, raw material supply, and maintenance services. How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: Develops new business prospects into viable opportunities Meets with potential clients and partners to understand their unique challenges Collaborates across the WestRock enterprise to prepare, coordinate, and conduct complex technical presentations to key decision makers Negotiates long term partnership agreements Ensures successful solution implementation with effective coordination of internal teams delivering the best solution to the customer Continues growing the business by managing difficult customer situations and forging strong partnerships Attends trade shows and represents Smurfit Westrock Box on Demand products in the marketplace What you need to succeed: Required: Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering Required: 5 years of experience interfacing with customers in a sales environment Driven to succeed: shows initiative and determination to drive results and thrives in a fast paced/high volume environment Proven aptitude for understanding manufacturing and fulfillment environments Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Exceptional presentation skills that captivate and engage Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Proficient user of Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and AutoCAD (preferred) Willingness to travel extensively by air or car (50%) What we offer: Corporate culture is based on integrity, respect, accountability, and excellence.
