Senior Product Designer

What You Will Do onX is seeking a Senior Product Designer, AI Foundations to shape how AI is integrated into our product ecosystem. The role sits at the intersection of emerging technology, evolving user expectations, and real-world product constraints. Our AI practice is actively developing, and we are experimenting, learning, and refining how AI should show up in our products. You will design and prototype AI-enabled experiences from early exploration through iteration, ensuring technical AI capabilities align with meaningful customer problems. You will partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Research to explore, test, and refine AI-driven workflows that are useful, trustworthy, and grounded in real user needs. This is an individual contributor role within the UX Design & Research team. You may own one or more AI-focused initiatives while influencing broader design direction through shared patterns, documentation, and storytelling. You will report to the Head of UX Design & Research and work closely with the AI Foundations team. Responsibilities Lead design efforts in early-stage, AI-enabled problem spaces where best practices are still emerging, translating complex AI capabilities into intuitive experiences. Work in iterative cycles that prioritize learning and guide durable UX foundations over time, contributing to patterns, principles, and guidance for broader AI adoption. Apply systems thinking to anticipate downstream effects, edge cases, failure modes, and trust implications of AI-enabled features; help clarify trade-offs and responsible uses in customer-facing workflows. Conduct lightweight research (interviews, usability testing, synthesis) and partner with UX Research for deeper investigation. Elevate AI fluency within the design organization by demonstrating practical uses of AI tools and modeling thoughtful adoption. Qualifications Six (6) or more years of experience designing complex digital products or systems, including work in ambiguous or 0–1 environments. Hands-on experience designing AI-assisted, data-informed, or algorithmically driven experiences; working understanding of generative AI capabilities and limitations. Ability to explain how AI works at a surface level and how its constraints shape interaction design decisions. Comfort using AI tools to augment design workflow while recognizing where human judgment remains critical. Strong interaction design and product thinking skills, ideally with experience in map-based or spatially complex experiences. Ability to translate technically complex capabilities into clear, usable, and trustworthy interfaces. Ability to balance rapid experimentation with long-term system design amid evolving constraints. Clear and pragmatic communication skills to align cross-functional partners through storytelling and artifacts. Willingness to share thinking and help others develop stronger AI design literacy. How You’ll Be Compensated Salary range: $139,000 to $174,000 at hire, with variation based on experience, skills, and education. Eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and an annual bonus of up to 10% based on company performance.
