We've designed this as a growth role for someone with 2+ years of experience ready to level up from coordinator/assistant to full ownership. Here’s the Deal You'll manage our federal healthcare technology event portfolio: 8 major conferences with booth presence (ranging from large industry shows to specialized VA events), 10+ attend‑only events and sponsorships, and up to 20 virtual events annually (up to 5 per quarter). Fully remote, but you'll travel to conferences about 30-40% of the year during peak seasons (March‑June, September‑November). The Unique Part Our Event Manager is transitioning to another division after years of building this program. We're bringing in someone earlier in their career who wants to learn federal healthcare marketing with built‑in knowledge transfer. Hands‑on Training & Ownership What works (and what doesn't) at federal conferences HubSpot CRM integration for attribution tracking Budget management & ROI measurement Then you take ownership and make it your own What You’d Actually Do Trade Shows & Conferences Execute end‑to‑end logistics (booth registration, vendor coordination, shipping, on‑site setup) Collaborate with Graphic Designer on booth design and branded materials Train and coordinate booth staff on messaging and lead capture protocols Handle day‑of problem‑solving and attendee engagement Virtual Event Program Host webinars and virtual events on camera (you'll be the face of DSS) Interact live with subject matter experts during product demos and executive roundtables Build on‑demand content library from recorded sessions Drive 40%+ attendance rates through multi‑channel promotion Marketing Operations Integrate all event data with HubSpot CRM for lead capture, scoring, and attribution Partner with HubSpot Automation Specialist to build automated workflows Prepare quarterly performance reports for Marketing Director and VP Sales & Marketing Analyze data to identify trends, optimization opportunities, and ROI Support management of annual events budget under Marketing Director guidance Build relationships with booth builders, conference organizers, and vendors Track event spend and maintain documentation Research cost‑effective vendors and promotional suppliers Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with Sr. Communications Manager on messaging and campaigns Partner with HubSpot Automation Specialist to build automated workflows and prepare quarterly performance reports for Marketing Director and VP Sales & Marketing Work with Graphic Designer on booth design and assets Align with Sales on target accounts and lead handoff protocols Coordinate with Product teams and Subject Matter Experts You're a Great Fit If You ✅ Have 2+ years B2B event marketing, trade show management, or field marketing experience with demonstrated results ✅ Are comfortable hosting webinars and being on camera regularly (strong on‑camera presence required) ✅ Can manage 15+ events simultaneously without dropping balls ✅ Have basic HubSpot experience (preferred) or similar CRM/marketing automation platforms ✅ Are highly organized, detail‑oriented, and results‑oriented ✅ Can brief executives, train booth staff, negotiate with vendors, and write compelling copy ✅ Learn new platforms quickly (Wistia, project management tools, virtual event tech) ✅ Have travel flexibility (30-40% during peak event seasons) ✅ Are a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (required for federal contractor compliance) ✅ Can pass a federal background check and be determined suitable for federal employment ✅ Are excited (not intimidated) by learning federal healthcare market nuances Nice to Have (But We’ll Teach You) Government contracting, healthcare IT, or B2G industry exposure Knowledge of federal procurement cycles and VA/VHA/DoD/NIH stakeholders Experience with Wistia, Cvent, Eventbrite, or event registration platforms Familiarity with Confluence/JIRA, Asana, or project management tools Certification interest (CMP, DES) or event marketing professional development You're Not a Great Fit If You ❌ Need constant hand‑holding or direction ❌ Want a traditional 9‑5 with zero travel ❌ Prefer staying behind the scenes (you'll host virtual events regularly) ❌ See this as "just a job" vs. a career‑building opportunity ❌ Aren't comfortable with ambiguity and problem‑solving on the fly What You Get 401(k) with company match Fully remote with home office support Important to Know You’ll work with security and privacy requirements (HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST 800‑53) - full training provided Physical job: Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted (luggage/travel), 15‑20 lbs at events Travel unassisted up to 30‑40% per year via common carrier and/or personal automobile Must be eligible for federal employment (background check, security clearance potential) About DSS DSS Inc. is a leading health information software development and systems integration company, offering services and solutions utilized daily by thousands of clinicians and administrative staff across both public and private sectors nationwide.
