The Museum of Idaho is the Gem State’s largest history and science center, with significant Idaho collections, high-profile traveling exhibits, and a wide array of educational programs and fun events for young and old. Located in Idaho Falls, ID, the museum serves as a cornerstone for cultural enrichment and lifelong learning. Role Description The Marketing Coordinator supports the museum’s marketing efforts through creative content development, digital engagement, and research-driven storytelling. Working closely with the Director of Marketing, this role helps ensure all communications align with broader campaigns, initiatives, and the museum’s mission. Core Responsibilities Assist with marketing department priorities, including collateral distribution, graphic design, web maintenance, and reporting. Responsibilities include: Developing and scheduling social media content, including videos, posts, and stories Drafting and designing email newsletters Assisting with planning, shooting, and editing short-form video Researching historical and scientific topics and working with museum staff and visitors to create content Collaborating with the Director of Marketing to support broader marketing campaigns, initiatives, and promotional strategies Monitoring and reporting on engagement metrics Managing an online ticketing system Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, social media management, and/or content creation (relevant internships and coursework considered) Strong research, writing, editing, and storytelling skills Ability to translate historical or scientific information into engaging, accessible content for various audiences Familiarity with social media platforms and trends (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) Basic graphic design and video editing skills (Canva, Adobe, or similar tools) Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with cross-departmental teams Interest in museums, history, science, or cultural institutions strongly preferred Details Part-time position, hourly 20-25 hours per week Pay range: $18-$22 The candidate will work with the Director of Marketing to set a consistent work schedule within regular business hours, with occasional evening and weekend hours expected as well.
