Business Development and Operations Job Description
Basic Function Summary:
The position of Business Development and Operations is responsible for marketing refined petroleum products by establishing contacts and developing relationships with key decision-makers.
Contacting and recommending solutions to prospects that motivates a decision to become a new UEPT customer. Maintains relationships with UEPT clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommends profit and process improvements to leadership for possible implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with UEPT's customer base
Build strategic company-to-company relationships with key enterprise-wide decision makers
Manage targeted client accounts to leverage growth
Nurture long-term relationships to become client's "Trusted Advisor"
Understand and articulate our value proposition, positioning us to take advantage of our clients' growth strategies
Develop and manage sales pursuits in the market, maintain continuous growth in prospect pipeline
Advise the senior leader and sales team on key issues and make recommendations on important business decisions
Strategic planning when dispatching of delivered loads and optimizing supply allocations
Ensure quality control of all company communication as pertains to customer acquisition and delivery of products
Ensure all departments are fully informed of operational objectives
Achieve operational and performance goals for your position which are aggressive, achievable, and tied to long-term goals
Establish reports and monitor self-performance as it pertains to company goals to review with leadership
Set regular meetings with leadership to ensure that priorities are clear, and communication and coordination is being achieved as expected
Manage dispatching of delivered business to ensure customer and company expectations are being met
Fully understand locations of marketing terminals, complement of products offered, and pricing of each product. Working knowledge of various daily reports that include UEPT rack price sheet, inventory report, credit report, etc.
Fully understand various types of pricing offers for clients that includes rack prices, discounts, short-term and long-term contracts

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field, or requisite business experience/education combination
1-5+ years sales or marketing experience

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
